Grammys 2020: Lana Del Rey loses Song of the Year to Billie Eilish leaving fans furious
Lana Del Rey made her red carpet debut at the Grammys tonight with boyfriend Sean Larkin by her side. Rey looked stunning in a silver gown and 60s-inspired hair, while Larkin kept it classy in a black suit.
Rey was up for two Grammys tonight, Song of the Year and Album of the Year 'Norman F***ing Rockwell!'. She lost out on the first after Billie Eilish claimed Song of the Year for 'Bad Guy', and fans are not OK.
Since receiving her first nomination in 2014 and many more since, Rey has not won a Grammy till date. Fans are disappointed that she was passed over once more for a song they believe deserved to win Song of the Year.
Some fans felt the song was a standout on the album and warranted more recognition, stating "lana del rey has lost song of the year with her song "Norman F***ing Rockwell" & she truly deserved it. this song is an amazing entrance into a beautiful album filled with love and looking for happiness even when you think it's not possible. a standout."
Others took a more comical approach to express their displeasure, such as this user who says ".@RecordingAcad Lana Del Rey didn’t go to the mall to get a dress for nothing give her a Grammy now."
More and more users take to social media to pour their hearts out about their love for Rey and anger at the Grammys for not awarding her yet again, others wait with bated breath for the Album of the Year award, still holding on to the hope that Rey will finally take home a Grammy. One user even started a Twitter prayer circle - hey, when you're rooting for your idol, you pull out ALL the stops!
