Kristen Bell is one of the celebrities who has stepped forward to demand justice for the black community, in the light of the recent death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd. Ever since the protests began to erupt across the US, she was seen sharing multiple images and videos from the demonstrations. The actress is also making bold statements and posting messages, urging her fans and followers to do their bit in curbing the issue.

On June 1, she took to Instagram to share a screenshot showing the $500,500 donation that she’s made towards the cause and along with it, shared a long heartfelt note reflecting her thoughts on the injustice towards the black community. The post begins with the note, “If you are feeling at any point, "ok already with the posts on this topic" I beg u to analyze & check ur privilege. This is a time to raise our voices about injustice. We can post cute stories about life later. Right now this IS life. And we are obligated, as people w/a moral compass, to stand up for what is right.”

In the later part of her post, Bell says that she’s only been sharing videos and pictures of protestors to show that “people that are part of the PROBLEM become part of the SOLUTION.” She further stated that she doesn’t fear her life anymore when she’s out in the world.

Bell urged her followers to not feel uncomfortable about the conversation and addressed the need to stand defiant against any force that comes in their way of bringing justice to the victims. “I am here to learn. I am here to be a part of the solution & to be anti-racist.,” the ‘Bad Moms’ actress said.

Adding, “Today i've made a 50k contribution to @colorofchange. Im not looking for a pat on the back. I'm looking to be part of the solution.”, she noted toward the end “If you feel compelled to comment “all lives matter” in response to this post, u might want to consider that you are reacting from a blind spot of white privilege. Saying “all lives matter” is a denial of how dangerous it is to simply live as a black person in America. “All lives” do not live in fear of getting killed simply because of the color of their skin.”

Before concluding her long note, Bell shared links to many websites that offer a wide range of services including legal aide and national jail fund that fights racial and economic inequalities. She also tagged Gwyneth Paltrow at the end of her post, asking her re-share it.
