Kim Jong-un is said to have spent millions of dollars on buying lingerie for his harem of teenage sex slaves that he handpicked after checking for their virginity.

While reports of the North Korean dictator's poor health have been the source of constant speculation over the past week, the legacy he leaves behind if he does pass away is by no means a glittering one.

While the rest of the populace of his hermit nation dealt with famine and was forced to survive on government handouts of 650 gm of rice, maize, and meat per day, the 36-year-old was signing off on imported racy lingerie for his sex slaves.

Kim reportedly spent $3.4 million in 2016 on suspenders and corsets for the young girls, who were picked off from classrooms when they were just 13 and then forced to "service" him and his henchmen. He then had doctors perform medical checks on them to make sure they were virgins before they were officially recruited to the harem, dubbed "Pleasure Squad" or "Section Five."

Buying lingerie for his harem wasn't the only extravagant indulgence of the North Korean leader. According to the International Trade Center, Kim also spent millions on champagne, cheese, chocolate, and beer imported from Europe.

Kim signed off on $296,000 of imported spirits, $142,000 on wines and champagne, and $71,000 on German beer the same year. He also spent a further $84,000 on imported cheeses, $72,000 on Swiss watches, and $155,000 on perfumes, deodorants, make-up, and hair care products.

MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) previously reported how the North Korean leader's personal train, which has 20 or more carriages and which he uses to get around the country, was the symbol of his opulence.

The locomotive, recently pictured parked at his compound in the country's east coast, has a lounge lined with coral-pink leather sofas, a modern, all-white conference room, an office equipped with satellite TV, and a galley ready to serve the finest cuisine.

It has a consistent stock of fresh lobster, vintage wines, and has attractive female "conductors," which fueled suggestions that he had revived his late father Kim Jong-il's practice of using the service of the so-called "Pleasure Brigade."

The "Pleasure Brigade" is said to consist of young girls coerced into providing sex and entertainment to the train's guests.

The train also provides an array of Apple MacBooks, silver cutlery, and the finest bottles from Burgundy and Bordeaux, as well as Kim's favored Cristal champagne, Hennessy cognac, and Swiss cheese.

But this same opulence may be the reason behind his poor health. Kenji Fujimoto, the personal chef to his father for 13 years, had spoken out about the dictator's extravagant and luxurious eating habits in 2013.

Fujimoto had revealed that Kim would finish two bottles of Cristal in one sitting and drank "10 bottles of Bordeaux" during a meal. He added that the 36-year-old had a fondness for sushi.

The view was shared by Ermanno Furlanis, an Italian chef recruited to make pizza for the regime in 1997. Furlanis revealed that Kim Jong-Il was a "maniac" for food and that his interest in food was "not normal" and it was likely Kim had inherited his father's fondness for it.
