Spoilers for 'Killing Eve' Season 3 Episode 4

It's a sad birthday for Eve Polastri, but everyone's beloved Villanelle has turned viewers into little psychopaths like her own self because every time she goes for an elaborate murder with grandeur, fans can't help but applaud her expertise rivaling that childish aura she radiates. But of course, tonight's episode didn't end with Villanelle's murder. She did murder in this episode, but the central death of yet another pivotal character was orchestrated by none other than Dasha — something that even Eve's good choices and desperation to make it up to Niko couldn't withstand. And even though Episode 4 of Season 3 got leaked a solid two hours ago, the final death it culminated with has fans claiming they are 'out for real'.

The episode kicks off with Niko Polastri (Owen McDonnell) finally having found peace back home in Poland, far far away from Eve and all the crazy trauma she brought him. He's working a breadmaker's job, bringing bread to innocent old farm women, kinda hitting it off with female bartenders and having a quiet but chill life sorted for himself. But of course, the writers can't let him be in peace, and while the fandom is beyond thrilled to have him out of the picture of Eve and Villanelle's chaotic reunion, almost everyone agreed in unison that Niko being killed by Dasha at the end of the episode was unexpected. In fact, none of them "saw it coming".

After Villanelle's little tryst with Eve in London, people from The 12 tell Dasha she needs to stop these 'extracurriculars' or her promotion will suffer. Dasha proposes to kill Eve, but higher bosses at The 12 want her to just drive a wedge long enough between the two women. So Dasha goes to Poland, disguises herself as an old farm woman, steals Niko's phone, messages Eve to come visit him, and when she finally arrives, Dasha flings a shovel at Niko's throat and guts him to death in front of Eve.

A lot of fans were expecting her trip to Poland would be to reunite Eve and Niko to snub chances of Villanelle reconciling with the love of her life, and another half of the fandom was just terrified Dasha was going to hurt Eve directly, but also hoped that Villanelle would arrive in time to save her. Instead, Dasha proved she's 'Still Got It' by taking Niko out in such a brutal and heartbreaking way that has fans saying: "I swear to lord Killing Eve... yep I'm out for real." Another fan remarked: "Not a huge fan of Niko but he never ever deserved any of this."

Pointing out the tragedy this is for Eve, who wanted to make it up to Niko more than anything, but instead had to witness his death on her birthday, a fan noted: "I understand killing niko but did you really have to do it IN FRONT OF EVE?! Was him dying not painful enough???"

Fans are heartbroken in unison for 'poor Eve' after that out of the blue murder, but their only respite is, "When villanelle learns who killed niko... poor dasha, she is going to be so freaking sorry for killing mr mustache!!"

'Killing Eve' Season 3 airs on Sundays at 9pm only on BBC America.
