How Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant met
Alexandra and Keanu first became acquainted at a dinner party in 2009 when they worked together on Reeve’s books 'Ode to Happiness'. The project marked Alexandra’s debut as an artist and Keanu’s debut as a writer. In 2016, they collaborated again for the actor's book 'Shadows', to which Alexandra once again contributed the artwork. After keeping their relationship under wrap for years, the glamorous couple first sparked romance rumors in June 2019 when they attended a Saint Laurent fashion show together, according to Daily Mail.
Later that year, Keanu and Alexandra made their official red carpet-appearance as a couple at the LACMA Art + Cinema Gala in Los Angeles. She is his first known romantic partner since Jennifer Syme, who passed away in a vehicle accident in 2001, less than four months after giving birth to her and Keanu's stillborn child. Following their red carpet debut, Alexandra confessed that she was surprised by the attention the relationship received.
'Love at every level is deeply important'
"I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that's fascinating," she told British Vogue. “But the question I’ve been asking in all of this is: ‘What is the opportunity for good?’” When questioned about the prospect of marriage, Alexandra said, "Love at every level is deeply important to my identity. How’s that for dodging the question? I do not believe that isolation is the way. There is a period of isolation that I do as a painter, but I deeply value the experience of being in relationships."
