Kayleigh McEnany slammed for saying Trump's doctored toddler video is funny: 'How can you be so ignorant?'

'@PressSec just be honest with America. Do not make excuses for manipulating media and lying to the general #USA public,' said a social media user

The systemic racism evidently present in the US has been under a microscope for the past few weeks as protests across all 50 states call for justice in policing after the passing of George Floyd. With Trump's administration being pushed to call out racism with laws and legislations that would actually advocate for the Black Lives Matter movement, POTUS decided that a video calling out fake news was the best way to handle it.

The video showcases two toddlers running toward each other as the screen read, "Terrified toddler runs from racist baby," and "racist baby probably a Trump voter." The video then changes its tone to call out 'fake news' reading "what actually happened" before showing the toddlers running toward each other for a hug. The message of the video stated, "America is not the problem. Fake news is. If you see something, say something. Only you can prevent fake news dumpster fires."

After trolling Trump, the social media didn't spare White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany either. The White House held a briefing that allowed reporters to ask McEnany about Trump's upcoming rally and anything else pertaining to the current events on the United States political agenda. Reporters, of course, wasted no time bringing up the video with CNN's Jim Acosta boldly asking McEnany "Doesn't sharing fake videos make you fake news?"

"Kayleigh McEnany: "The President was making a satirical point that was quite funny if you go and actually watch the video." CNN's Jim Acosta: "What's funny about these two toddlers hugging one another?" tweeted the official account of The Hill with a video of McEnany seeing no issue in Trump's release of the toddler video. "I am losing respect for the entire @Trump administration day by day. @PressSec just be honest with America. Do not make excuses for manipulating media and lying to the general #USA public. #fake news creation is wrong unless for comedy and we don't need a funny fix from your team," tweeted a user. Another added, "Shall we make a similar video with your child, Kayleigh? Would you like that? Stop lying to please your boss. He'll toss you aside if you do the slightest thing to upset him. How can you be so ignorant? Is it the money? Who on earth would ever want to hire you in the future?"

"A parent of one toddler did not find it funny and requested it's removal. Success on FB and Twitter. Jerks. Children are not pawns," tweeted another user.

While there were supporters of Trump's administrations most people didn't hold back calling McEnany out on her parenting skills and the fact that she thought that her boss's video was "funny." "Parent of toddler in 'manipulated' Trump video forces Facebook and Twitter to remove it. ⁦@PressSec ⁩, who is a mother, said that the video was 'funny'. Well this mother, and the toddler’s parent don’t think it’s funny. Not at all Kayleigh," tweeted a user. Another one sarcastically said, "Kayleigh probably thought pushing smaller kids down on the playground was satirical and really funny."
