Kanye West declares he will 'beat Biden off of write-ins' alone, says he's not dropping out of 2020 race

Kanye West has pushed back against critics who doubt his influence or ability to actually compete in the upcoming 2020 presidential elections come November, saying he can defeat former Vice President Joe Biden by write-ins alone. “I will beat Biden off of write-ins #2020VISION,” Kanye wrote, before adding in a follow-up tweet, “I CAN BEAT BIDEN OFF OF WRITE INS.”

The 'Jesus Is King' hitmaker quashed speculation that he was moving to drop his presidential bid as he filed petitions for the Illinois presidential ballot just minutes before the deadline. The Grammy-winning artist and fashion mogul sparked doubts earlier this week after hinting that he may postpone his presidential bid. “#2020VISION or maybe ’24,” he wrote. “I guess all black people supposed to vote on Biden? Y’all want me to run or nah???”

The Kardashian family, including Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian, was thrust into the national spotlight after he launched a series of bizarre Twitter rants, one of them accusing his wife of locking him "up with a doctor" after he spoke about abortion during his first campaign event in South Carolina. “My mom saved my life. There would have been no Kanye West because my dad was too busy,” he told the crowd through tears, adding, “I almost killed my daughter” referring to discussions with wife Kim to abort North West.

Despite his public outburst, Kim stood by her husband and shared a statement about the “stigma and misconceptions about mental health.” She described Kanye as a “brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions."

Kanye's latest comments came after Joe Biden faced backlash for calling President Donald Trump the "first" racist president of the United States. The former vice president was speaking at a virtual town hall on Wednesday when a health care worker raised concerns about Trump referring to the novel coronavirus as the "China virus."

“The way he deals with people based on the color of their skin, their national origin, where they’re from, is absolutely sickening,” Biden responded.

“No sitting president has ever done this. Never, never, never. No Republican president has done this. No Democratic president. We’ve had racists, and they’ve existed, they’ve tried to get elected president. He’s the first one that has,” he added.

Reacting to Biden's characterization, “The Breakfast Club" co-host Charlamagne Tha God declared the Democratic challenger Thursday’s “Donkey of the Day," Fox News reported. "I really wish Joe Biden would shut the eff up forever and continue to act like he's starring in the movie 'A Quiet Place' because as soon as he opens his mouth and makes noise, he gets us all killed, OK?" he said.

Charlamagne also accused Biden of "revisionist history" and said his claim about the president was “a lie” that “relinquishes America of all responsibility of its bigotry.” “How are we ever going to atone for America’s original sins if we don’t acknowledge them?” he said. “How the hell can Donald Trump be the first racist president in a country where 12 presidents before him owned slaves? Old white male leadership has failed America and there is nothing worse than an old white male [who] can't recognize the faults and flaws of other old white males."

“Joe, you got to hurry up and announce your black woman VP so I can be enthused about voting for her because I will never be enthused about voting for you, and you know America is a terrible place when Kanye West seems like a viable option,” the radio host added.
