TWICE fans angry as JYPE prioritizes Itzy's July release over Nayeon's solo debut

Nayeon's solo debut is in June but only one teaser image and tracklist info is out, while JYPE has released a scheduler for Itzy's album set to come out in July

JYPE is pretty busy at the moment, right from giving NMIXX four albums, to Stray Kids going on their world tour and planning a world tour for Itzy. Along with a comeback for Itzy, at the same time, we also have Nayeon becoming the first TWICE member to make a solo debut. Fans were excited as she collaborated with the likes of Stray Kids’ Felix and Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix fame. However, apart from a teaser photo, a snippet of her lead single, and the tracklist, there have been no pre-promotions for the debut.

On the other hand, JYPE has dropped a scheduler that shows that June is jam-packed with pre-promotion for Itzy’s July release and August world tour. We already have a teaser for Itzy’s album ‘Checkmate’ while the label is yet to give us any new information on Nayeon’s debut album titled ‘Im Nayeon’. It doesn’t help that her solo debut date happens to be on June 24. TWICE fans are upset that JYPE is prioritizing Itzy’s July release when Nayeon’s debut is earlier.

JYPE drops more pre-promotion content for Itzy than Nayeon

This has led to a fan war among TWICE and Itzy fans. ONCEs (TWICE’s fandom) are bringing up TWICE’s achievements from being the second K-pop group to selling out US stadium concerts to raising JYPE’s net worth to 1 trillion won (~$797 million) solely with their world tour. Midzys (Itzy’s fandom) on the other hand feel that Itzy is being put down while trying to demand proper promotions for Nayeon’s solo debut.

‘Always sabotaging TWICE’

One fan was disappointed, “JYPE expects NAYEON debut to be successful but cant even get to promote it better? If they really want #IM_NAYEON to be successful, we shouldve gotten many informations to hype up the public now. But what do we get? An announcement, 1 WEEK GAP, preorder links, 1 WEEK GAP, etc.”

Another was surprised that Nayeon had a pre-promotional event at all, “Onces thank Biotherm for promoting Nayeon more than JYPE with this event.” Another ONCE tweeted, “Why is jype letting the hype down, they shouldve released a timetable or more promotional content at this point, nolo is literally out in less than 25 days, they need to keep promoting it what's not clicking ????!!??”

One fan brought up Itzy’s comeback schedule, “JYPE releasing full on time tables for something that is being released a month and a half from now, while the first TWICE Solo is coming out in like 20 days and we have no time tables.... Div. 3 I'll see you in hell.”

Another fan added, “Can JYPE do their job right?? Post the schedule of the teasers atleast.? WTH is this giving no teasers for days and dropping all at once on a random day.. in 18days NY1 will be released. Always sabotaging TWICE.”

One fan said, “Explain to me why you're releasing teasers for a juniors comeback thats AFTER nayeon's debut but radio silence for nayeon's teaser?” Another ONCE commented, “Im sorry but itzy's comeback was NOT ONLY JUST ANNOUNCED TO BE IN JULY. BUT THEY ALREADY HAVE A TIMETABLE AND A CONCEPT TRAILER...... nolo is 18 DAYS NOW. STILL NO TIMETABLE. STILL NO TRAILERS.@jypnation @followjyp F**K YOU.”
