Big on superhero shows, but not a fan of all the self-righteous ideal that comes along with it? If that's the case, you might just take a liking to Netflix's newest series, 'Jupiter's Legacy.'
Based on Mark Millar's comic books by the same name, (yes, we're referring to the same Mark Millar, the man behind 'Kick-Ass,' 'Superman: Red Son,' and 'Wolverine: Old Man Logan'), 'Jupiter's Legacy.' The series follows The Union of Justice, a superhero team that is currently caught in a crux, with its leader, The Utopian, being unable to let go of his ideal or allowing the new guard to take over, resulting in conflict, while evil looms over them.
As per the show's synopsis -- 'After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world's first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents' legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards. Based on the graphic novels by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, Jupiter's Legacy is an epic superhero drama that spans decades and navigates the complex dynamics of family, power, and loyalty.'

Actor Josh Duhamel takes on the role of Sheldon Sampson aka The Utopian, the leader of the superhero team known as the Union of Justice. As the leader of the group, Sampson has strong beliefs that he imposes. He also is the most reluctant when it comes to handing over the mantle to his son, Brandon, seeing that he can only pick out faults in the young hero's methods.
His relationship with his daughter, Chloe, is also a broken one, seeing that she wants nothing to do with being a hero and finds that she's much better off partying instead. Sampson is caught between glory, duty and his own responsibilities as a father.
