CIUDAD JUAREZ - José Lara, a Juarez cartel member was arrested by Mexican authorities on Wednesday, one year after the massacre of three American mothers, and their six children. He is charged with homicide, attempted homicide, and involvement "with organized crime for the purpose of committing crimes against health."

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Lara was "linked" to the brutal massacre of nine Mormon women and children by Mexico's Attorney General Office. The murders of the U.S.-Mexican dual citizens took place last year in Bavispe, Mexico allegedly by La Línea, a wing of the Juárez Cartel. It was further reported that Lara has been accused of being associated with the "criminal organization" in northern Mexico. More particularly, he is being accused of being "a member of a criminal organization with a presence in the north of the country and is a likely participant in the events." Since the killings last year, Lara happens to be the 13th criminal that has been arrested by Mexican authorities dealing with the case.

Back on November 4, 2019, a gang reportedly linked to the Juárez Cartel "ambushed" three SUV's on a road in Bavispe, Sonora, with armed weapons. During this incident, Christina Marie Langford Johnson was shot and killed tragically as she tried to confront the members of the gang - thankfully, her 7 month old  daughter, Faith Langford, survived. Dawna Ray Langford was also killed after being shot while she drove an SUV with her nine children. Trevor, 11, and Rogan, 3, both Langford's son were also assassinated - her other seven children did escape, although five of them were wounded. Rhonita Miller, was also killed 10 miles down the road along with four of her children, eight-month-old twins Tiana Miller and Titus Miller, Howard Jr. Miller, 12, and Krystal Miller, 10. Reports reveal that the vehicle was set on fire, with the family still inside.

Other suspects arrested in association with this massacre include Jesús Parra who was caught in June, along with 11 more suspects that have been charged with "belonging to a criminal organization." Furthermore, the Mexican authorities continue to investigate the case as arrest warrants for 10 more people have been issues for charges of homicide. None of the suspects have been convicted as of yet, and according to reports, Miller's father, Adrián LeBarón told Daily Mail that he woke up with "mixed emotions" due to this fact that justice is yet to be served. He explained that he did want to place his hopes on the city's court system saying, "I have to have gratitude and be grateful because it is the case that has received the most justice in all of Mexico. So I should be thankful and I am not. I do not have much to be thankful for, even if it is the case that has made the most progress in the administration of justice. So what does that mean to me? Well, we are well screwed, but at the same time they say that I should be grateful."
