Johnny Depp's defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard has had its share of solemn and dramatic moments but the 58-year-old actor has found ways to enjoy himself. Depp looked to be drawing away intently on day 9 of the hearing in Fairfax, Virginia, before triumphantly giving a complex artwork on a post-it note to his lawyer Benjamin Chew.  A video of his doodling, posted to TikTok by user @dangiaplumbing4life, has gone viral, with 5.5 million views and 735.9k likes. The video was captioned, 'What's this?' 'It's an art project...' 'Okay, I like it. Picasso!"

According to The New York Post, the video was recorded while the court was waiting for witness Tara Roberts, Depp's island estate manager, to join the proceedings by video. The camera zoomed in on Johnny Depp's artwork, revealing it to be a doodle of a lady. As the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star muttered something in his ear, Depp's lawyer, Benjamin Chew, reached for his spectacles to better examine the sticky note. Chew was overjoyed with his client's artwork after a few seconds of study, nodding and pressing his hand to his heart. Depp responded with a smile, apparently delighted with his doodling.

The video has gone viral not just in TikTok but on other platforms as well. A user wrote, "Johnny Depp just sat with his journal doodling is so wholesome 🥺(This also backs everything he’s said about always turning to art but that’s for another thread)." Another wrote, "How much do you wanna bet Johnny is drawing on his post it's right now?!?"

"#Johnny Depp should release a coloring book with all his courtroom doodles," said a user.

The high-profile trial began on April 12 to handle Johnny Depp's $50 million defamation claim against ex-wife Amber Heard, 36. The former stated that Heard's 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post, in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse, permanently harmed his career.

The trial has piqued the interest of a sizable portion of the internet, owing mostly to the abundance of meme material it provides. The majority of them show Amber Heard's legal team's ineptitude in unexpectedly humorous ways. Meme sites are having a field day depicting how Heard's attorney, who has previously exhibited a proclivity for expressing objections to "hearsay," inadvertently voiced the same objection to a response to his query. Depp has also entertained himself by mocking the attorney's many hearsay objections and repeating legalese such as "Did I read that right?" and confirming Depp's signature on the same document at least four times.
