John Krasinski brings 'Some Good News' and surprises health workers, melts hearts
Actor John Krasinski expressed his gratitude for frontline health workers in Boston in the third episode (April 12) of his highly-regarded and much-loved YouTube series 'Some Good News'. Surprising a few staff members from the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center COVID-19 unit, the 40-year-old actor arranged for a fun day out.
With an introduction from Red Sox legend David Ortiz, they stepped into the stadium, Fenway Park, threw out some pitches and got some much-needed time to themselves. The episode also saw a cameo from his wife, Emily Blunt, and the entire Red Sox team (apart from Ortiz).
Finding that there was a dearth of positive news in times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 'The Office' actor had launched his own YouTube show that he films from his home called 'Some Good News'. His first episode with 'The Office' co-star Steve Carell was an instant hit.
In his second episode last week, he surprised a young 'Hamilton' fan with a virtual performance of 'Alexander Hamilton' with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Anthony Ramos, Daveed Diggs, and more on Zoom.
Krasinski's gesture and his channel is appreciated all over the world. At a time when millions across the globe are struggling to keep it together, his YouTube channel is deemed a blessing in disguise, bringing heartwarming tales from one end to the other.
"This is just putting me in tears @johnkrasinski, im not even a baseball fan, but damn is this some awesome good news," tweeted a fan. The stories he brings to his viewers have been "melting hearts".
