US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden met with Spanish King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia on Tuesday, June 28. They together had a lavish dinner at the royal palace in Madrid, with Biden complimented the beauty of Zarzuela Palace in a humorous way. The 79-year-old said, “There’s an old expression in a little town in Delaware called Claymont, Del, a little steel town. And they say, ‘We’re like poor relatives. We show up when we’re invited and we stay longer than we should.’ So be careful. We may not go back.”

While Jill revealed her concern that she thought her and the Spanish Queen’s outfit would be the same.

The two ladies had visited Ukrainian refugees relocated to Spain during the day and at the time, the Queen had worn a white pantsuit and Jill a blue dress. But later the Spain's Queen changed into a black gown while Jill was seen in a white pantsuit. She reportedly said to Joe, “She had on a white suit today. I said ‘Oh no, are you wearing that tonight?’”

The ‘We may not go back’ remark from Biden came as he faces record-low poll numbers in the US. The New York Post, citing RealClearPolitics, said that “Biden’s average approval rating is at a record-low 38.8%, with 56.9% of Americans disapproving of his performance. Former President Donald Trump’s approval rating was 43.3% at the same point in his presidency."

The reasons behind his low approval rating are many as a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll claimed that Biden has only 36% approval overall, "with 34% of people rating the economy as their top concern, followed by 10% saying crime and 6% each citing immigration, the environment and inequality.”

Meanwhile, the internet has a lot to say after Biden expressed his “desire” to not go back to the US. A user tweeted, “Best thing us Americans have heard in a very very very very long time.” Another one remarked, “If we could only be so lucky.” The third user asked, “@POTUS I want to go to Spain too whats up sir?” “That would be his best choice yet in his career,” the fourth one wrote.

A tweet read: “We support that decision....only good one of his administration.” Another tweet stated: “Yes, please stay there and take Word Salad Harris with you.” “I think he just figured out how to raise his approval ratings,” a user named @dddurbin shared. “Was Biden struck by a moment of extreme wisdom?” an amused @miiller wrote, while a comment read: “Stay there. They need you. You can tell them about the time you used to be a matador and killed 21 bulls at once.” Another comment added: “Highest inflation in HISTORY , highest gas prices IN HISTORY & lowest approval rating in HISTORY ! You low IQ poor democrats voted for this !!! Hahahahaha & this all affects you more than anybody! I’m rich so I love it !! NOW SUFFER.”
