The US president's decision to pedal over to a group of well-wishers on his morning ride backfired on June 18. It was a perfect opportunity to show his followers that he was still fit at 79 as a crowd of fans and reporters waited beside the bike path where he and first lady Jill were finishing off their morning ride, close to their beach house in Delaware. But, when he attempted to dismount, Biden who was wearing a helmet, toppled over and appeared to land on his right side before rolling over onto his back.

After Secret Service officials helped Joe stand up again, he said reporters present in the crowd, "I'm good. I got my foot caught in the toe cages." The president instantly gathered himself and talked with the crowd that had gathered to watch him cycle for a while.

Later, the White House issued a statement claiming that he was "fine" and didn't need any medical attention. Later, on Saturday, President Biden was spotted again, leaving the church. When asked how he was doing, he responded with a weird dance move.

Over the long weekend, Joe Biden and his wife Jill stayed at their Rehoboth Beach home. They marked their 45th wedding anniversary on Friday. Jill married Joe in 1977, making Beau, Hunter, and Naomi, his three children from his first marriage, her stepchildren. Another kid that Joe and Jill had together is Ashley Biden, who was born in 1981.

Twitter users couldn't help but comment on Biden's 'bike fall/fail' photos spreading online like wildfire.  One of them mocked, "This is pretty much how his presidency is going..." while another user wrote, "I've always been terrified of shoe clips. Unless you're in some fancy race they are the worst idea ever."

An additional user who objected to cycles having foot cages wrote, "I hate those little foot cage things on bikes. When would you even have a situation where your foot came off the pedal and some how were unable to put your foot back on and also needed to to regain control of the bike?" In response to the foot cage issue, a user wrote, "It's not to keep your foot on the pedal, it's so that you can lift the foot and pull the pedal up with the strap/cage. That way you're generating momentum with both feet."

Prior to this, in the month of March 2021, President Biden had experienced yet another memorable three-time trip and fall while descending the stairs of Air Force One. At Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, he fell three times when he lost his footing while descending the stairs to board Air Force One.

Biden was targeted for the 'triple misstep' by numerous Republicans, conservative commentators, and everyday social media users after the incident. Even former US President Donald Trump didn't miss the chance, using Biden's trip and fall as another opportunity to restate his claim about the 2020 elections, saying. "I didn't lose to him".
