President Donald Trump's eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, reportedly took advantage of First Lady Melania Trump's delayed move to Washington DC to seize territory in the White House. Ivanka had suggested that the First Lady's Office be renamed the 'First Family's Office', according to a new book.

A new biography of the first lady titled 'The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump,' by Washington Post reporter Mary Jordan revealed that the first daughter had made her move shortly after Trump was elected. Melania did not shift to the White House immediately after Trump's election and instead chose to stay in New York City until June 2017 so son Barron could finish out the school year. It is also revealed in the biography that Melania, during this period, was also renegotiating her prenup before making a move to the White House.

The White House, however, has denounced the claim, calling the story "totally false". Deputy press secretary, Judd Deere, in a statement to the Daily Mail, said: "This is totally false. The media is once again running untrue information from anonymous sources and not once did anyone fact check this with the White House or Ivanka Trump."

The biography, set to release on Tuesday, June 16, also revealed that Melania used her position as the first lady to renegotiate prenup with Trump, and ensured that Barron would be treated the same as the eldest Trump children. The book also claimed that the first lady had plastic surgery. The book, however, has been slammed as "fiction" by the first lady's office.

Melania's chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, told the outlet: "Yet another book about Mrs. Trump with false information and sources. This book belongs in the fiction genre."

Jordan, in her book, wrote that Trump's election win in the 2016 election meant that he needed the first lady by his side, and Melania used this opportunity "to amend her financial arrangement with Trump, what Melania referred to as 'taking care of Barron'." Barron, at the time of Trump's election victory, was 10.

"She wanted proof in writing that when it came to financial opportunities and inheritance, Barron would be treated as more of an equal to Trump's oldest three children," the journalist wrote.

The book also contains reports of tension between Melania and Ivanka in the White House. Ivanka, who works as a senior adviser to her father, has an office in the West Wing, while Melania works out of the East Wing, which is located on the opposite side of the building. The pair have never yet hosted a joint event or initiative.

A New York Times report in 2018 had also referred to the tensions between Melania and Ivanka. The pair had then decided to take separate solo trips to Africa instead of going together. While Melania went in October 2018 to focus on children's issues as part of her Be Best campaign, Ivanka visited Africa a few months later, in April 2019, to highlight economic development, particularly among women.

According to another biography of Melania Trump released in 2019 by CNN reporter Kate Bennett, entitled 'Free, Melania: The Unauthorized Biography,' the relation between the stepmother-daughter duo is "cordial, but not close."
