President Donald Trump has said that he will go to the Supreme Court and demand that the counting of votes be stopped in the US election. The statement raises questions if there can be a fair outcome without the involvement of SCOTUS in the elections and what can be the outcome if Trump actually goes to Supreme Court.

Speaking to supporters and press at the White House, POTUS prematurely claimed on November 4 morning that “we did win” the election against Joe Biden and Democratic Party (despite having no basis to do so) – before confirming plans to halt ballot counting in states that are yet to declare due to yet to be counted mail-in votes. “We were getting ready for a big celebrations, and all of a sudden it was called off,” he said. “The results tonight have been phenomenal," he added.

Trump asserted that he had won states like Georgia, North Carolina and Michigan despite there still being tens of thousands of ballots still outstanding. “This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election,” Trump said in remarks from the East Room of the White House. “This is a very big moment. This is a major fraud on our nation. We want the law to be used in a proper manner. So we’ll be going to the U.S. Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. We don’t want them to find any ballots at four o’clock in the morning and add them to the list. It’s a very sad moment,” Trump continued.

Trump's urgency to become the president for the second term, even when some key states have not released the result, leave the voters with the question if POTUS actually wants to play fair in this elections. Trump's Supreme Court move is likely to spark various protests and unrest in the country.

According to WUSA 9, "The president and his team could not appeal their case directly to the Supreme Court but rather would have to go through lower courts first. Trump had previously indicated he wanted Justice Amy Coney Barrett confirmed to the court in time to decide potential election disputes. This has only happened once, but legal experts told the Verify team that this historic SCOTUS ruling could open the door for future similar decisions."

As soon as the statement made its way to social media, people started slamming Trump for his statement as one Internet user said, "Trump declared victory before all the votes were counted. he’s now taking it to supreme court. i literally f***ing predicted it. goodbye democracy." Another one claimed, "Trump has declared he is the winner without counting 100’s of thousands of votes. Trump intends to win this election in the packed Supreme Court not by the electorate."

Predicting protests another one said, "If Trump goes to the Supreme Court or stops counting votes, the question of riots goes out the windows. Imagine you get to vote for the first time ever and your president says it doesn’t count ? Of course you’d protest." Another one said, "...Leaving Trump to scream the whole thing’s rigged and demanding the Supreme Court rules on it... where they may very well agree. Whoever wins, America is now bitterly divided. One side, half the country, will more or less riot if their man isn’t elected."
