Netflix has a bunch of shows and films premiering in September and one of the series to look forward to is the crime thriller 'In the Shadow of the Moon'. The movie will have its world premiere at the Fantastic Fest in September 2019. The Netflix original is helmed by Jim Mickle, known for his work on 'Stake Land' and 'Cold in July'. Here's what we know about the crime thriller so far:
'In the Shadow of the Moon' will premiere on Netflix on September 27, 2019.
Netflix's official synopsis reads: "In 1988, Philadelphia police officer Thomas Lockhart, hungry to become a detective, begins tracking a serial killer who mysteriously resurfaces every nine years. But when the killer's crimes begin to defy all scientific explanation, Locke's obsession with finding the truth threatens to destroy his career, his family, and possibly his sanity."
The synopsis establishes that the late '80s crime thriller will most definitely have an intriguing, twisted storyline. Expect nothing short of hair-rising suspense for 115 minutes.
Ryan Allen ('Taken'), Julia Knope ('Designated Survivor'), Gabrielle Graham ('The Expanse'), Sarah Dugdale ('Arrow'), Cleopatra Coleman ('Miami Heat'), Bokeem Woodbine ('The Rock'), Boyd Holbrook ('The Predator'), and Michael C Hall ('Six Feet Under') will be core members of this Netflix original.
The crime thriller based on the screenplay written by Gregory Weidman ('Limitless') and Geoff Tock ('Defiance').
There is no trailer at the moment, but with the release date nearing, expect some footage to drop soon. Watch this space for more updates.
Talking about the movie, Mickle said, "Gregory [Weidman] and Geoff’s [Tock] script is such a great mind-bender and beautifully weaves together all my favorite genres. Boyd [Holbrook] is going to eat this role alive and show why he’s one of the best young actors working today. We’re lucky to have an incredibly talented producing team and a home-like Netflix that’s excited to take chances. Any studio that makes 'Okja' has a permanent place in my heart."
