KOOTENAI COUNTY, IDAHO: A woman who claimed her husband died after falling off a boat into a lake in 2018 has been charged with murder after his autopsy revealed that he was given a lethal dose of Benadryl.

Laurcene ‘Lori’ Isenberg had lied when she claimed that her husband Larry Isenberg died in a freak boating accident. She had managed to convince everybody about her version of events that led to her husband's untimely death. However, her husband's autopsy revealed a different version of events that led to his death.

In February 2018, Lori and her husband decided to go on a boat ride at Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

According to the 66-year-old, her husband fell overboard while leaning over the motor. The mother of six frantically called up the police seeking their help. She told them that she tried saving her dear husband but tripped over a heater and hurt her head.

Despite the search crews’ intense efforts, Larry’s body was found only a month later in March 2018.

When the Spokane County’s Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Larry’s body, the results left them shocked. The autopsy revealed that Larry had 7,100 nanograms of Benadryl in his system. Consuming more than 1,000 nanograms of the allergy medicine is considered to be highly unsafe.

After seeing the reports, Lori was arrested and placed in Kootenai County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and for planning to kill her husband by intentionally creating the situation in which her husband lost his life, according to the court documents. Her charges also cite poison, lying in wait or torture as potential factors in the killing.

Aside from charges of murdering her husband, Lori has also been charged with embezzling half-a-million dollars from her previous employer.

According to Daily Mail, she pled guilty to three counts of wire fraud in January 2019 and was sentenced to five years in federal prison for embezzling from her employer.

Lori has been brought to Kootenai County in Idaho from a detention center in Seattle. Her bond has been set at $2million. Her next hearing is scheduled for March 3.
