'Hypnotic' is the latest from Netlflix's impressive and haunting roster of psychological thrillers. Directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote, the Kate Siegel-starrer follows an unemployed woman with general anxiety issues visit a therapist named Dr. Meade (Jason O'Mara), who specializes in hypnotherapy. After a few visits that attempt to "unlock" her mind, she begins experiencing disturbing and deadly visions that make her think she's losing control of her sanity.

Now that the 'what to expect' is out of the way, here's the more interesting part: Siegel is one of those actors fast-cementing her way to be one of the most renowned faces in Hollywood's horror genre. Known for her roles in 'The Haunting of Bly Manor' and 'The Haunting of Hill House', Siegel stars in yet another spookfest and ahead of the movie's release, here's a quick look at five things about the Maryland actor and a bit about the cast.

Kate Siegel as Jenn

Her real name is Kate Gordon Siegelbaum. Siegel plays the protagonist, Jenn in 'Hypnotic' and goes through enough violent trauma after her visit to the therapist.

Those who have watched 'Oculus', a 2012 horror flick will remember Siegel as the Marisol Chavez, the seductive ghost. Interestingly, she wasn't the first choice to play the role. In an interview with EW, she called the role "thankless", but an important role.

She married Mike Flanagan, the director of 'Oculus' and the duo worked on more horror projects over the years. 'The Haunting of Hill House, 'The Haunting of Bly Manor' and ''Gerald's Game' were all collaborations with her husband. However, 'Hypnotic' doesn't involve Flanagan.

In 2016, Siegel made her screenwriting debut opposite her husband Mike Flanagan in Hush, the film had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 11, 2016, and was released on Netflix on April 8, 2016.

Apart from acting Siegel has also appeared in a commercial for Stelera, a prescription medication for those suffering from psoriasis. She has also lent her voice for horror podcasts Calling Darkness and The NoSleep Podcast.

Dule Hill

The 'Suits' star has an acting credits list that makes him one of the bankable stars in the industry. Hill is best-known for his roles as personal presidential aide and Deputy Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff Charlie Young on 'The West Wing'. His other works include recurring role on 'Ballers' and the reboot of the cult classic 'The Wonder Years'.

Dulé Hill attends the HBO's Post Emmy Awards Reception at The Plaza at the Pacific Design Center on September 22, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
