Unable to father a child, husband kills himself after wife blocks his calls days before starting IVF
After suffering three miscarriages, Jack Gilbert, 28, and Gemma, also in her 20s, were set to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) in a bid to have a baby. However, the couple had a fight just three days before they were due to start the course, following which, she blocked his calls and text messages.
Jack was found dead at his mother's residence in Adswood, near Stockport in Greater Manchester on July 4 last year, shortly after Gemma blocked him out. He had reportedly gone to watch the World Cup second round match between England and Columbia just hours before the tragedy, inquiries revealed. While footage from the night of the match showed him looking ecstatic as he sang and cheered for his team, tests later confirmed he had been consuming cocaine. The Gilberts had just celebrated their first wedding anniversary together, Daily Mail reports.
