Radio talk host Howard Stern has decided to go ahead with a presidential run in 2024 following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade. He made the announcement on his SiriusXM radio show, ‘The Howard Stern Show,’ on June 27. And just two days later, declared that Grammy-winning actor Bradley Cooper will be his running mate.

On the latest episode of his show, the 68-year-old Stern said, “I have some exciting news I’d like to share with you. Early this morning, I was texting back and forth with someone. This person texted me and said, ‘I want to congratulate you’ and ‘You have my vote. It was a very lovely conversation and I said, ‘How would you feel about being my vice president?’ And you know what he said? ‘Done.” Revealing that it’s Cooper, who is a nine-time Oscar-nominee, Stern declared, “This guy is going to bring in the female vote like you wouldn’t believe. My vice president… Bradley Cooper.”

To which co-host Robin Quivers responded, "What? Get out of here! He said he wants to be vice president? Does he know what he’s saying yes to?” Stern said that he was shocked that Cooper wanted to join, with Quivers asking if he should come to live with them, but Stern said he didn’t want to be disturbed because he was shooting a movie.

He added by saying, “This guy is going to bring in the female vote like you won’t believe. Because you know women ain’t going to vote for me.”

Talking about his decision, he said, “My country needs me. I know I’m not that bright. Believe me, no one else is either.” “You’ll have abortion back as soon as I’m president,” he promised and further said, “In fact, I want to announce this right now, I’m going to put an abortion clinic in the White House.”

In a previous episode where he made his presidential run announcement, Stern told his co-host, "The problem with most presidents is they have too big of an agenda. The only agenda I would have is to make the country fair again.”

Post the announcement, netizens were quick to give their mixed reactions. A user said, " true! Howard Stern said on his show today that he’s going to run for President and Bradley Cooper agreed to be his VP. Now that would at least be one hot VP! Lol." Another user trolled them and said, "Who would vote for these idiots?"

The bashing continued with one saying, "Howard Stern reveals Bradley Cooper as his Presidential running mate What a joke! he wouldn’t get 10% of votes, he’s way less important than he thinks he is. Bill Mahr might get 30-40% of the vote, #HowardStern is a bad joke!" However, a few came in support and said, "They have my vote! Howard Stern Bradley Cooper 2024!"

Not the first...

If the actor, whose representatives have not responded to this claim yet, does run for vice presidency as Stern’s running mate in 2024, this will not be the first time that a celeb will switch to politics. Earlier, 'The Man with No Name' actor Clint Eastwood became a Mayor in the late 1980s; Ronald Reagan, who spent three decades in acting, became the 40th President of the United States, and Arnold Schwarzenegger became the 38th Governor of California, among others.
