'How To Get Away With Murder' Season 6 Episode 6: Annalise faces an attack in Episode 7 and here's our list of everyone with a motive

The upcoming events in the lives of Annalise and her K4 indicate more horror, more suspenseful moments, and tighter twists in the plot
PUBLISHED NOV 1, 2019

We are almost halfway through the final season, and the suspense still keeps hanging. With Annalise filing a restraining order and pleading the court for protection against the Castillo family, it has become obvious that something dangerous is about to follow.

The promo of episode seven reveals a break-in at Annalise’s apartment. But of course, we don't see a face or hear a voice. All we see is Annalise reaching for a gun and threatening to shoot whoever is at the door.

If we quickly rewind through episode six, we can easily assess the kind of trouble Annalise Keating and her K4 is at the moment. From the time Frank was nearly beaten to death, everyone has been on the edge.

It's not that we don't know why Annalise is being targeted in the first place. She has had her share of crimes and cover-ups since Sam (her husband) got killed.

Whether it was to protect her students (Wes, Michaela, and then Asher) or Bonnie (Ron) or Frank, Annalise has done things that neither she is proud of, nor does she expect the law to spare her.

But when it comes to saving yourself from death, you would go to any extent and fight for your life. And that is exactly what Annalise is doing.

She knows that the FBI is not leaving any stone unturned to investigate her and her friends and the best way to handle the situation at the moment is to play offense. Hence she fights in court for legal protection.

However, the question remains that who could possibly want to kill Annalise? The teaser says "When friends become enemies". And we had seen in flash-forwards and analyzed how Michaela might be the one.

It is also possible that Asher could have gotten Annalise's blood on his hands, since he appears at Bonnie's house with blood spatter all over him. Perhaps he accidentally or deliberately killed Annalise and is now seeking help from Bonnie.

Then there is always the possibility of Laurel coming out of hiding. So far, we have never considered Laurel to be a perpetrator, for two reasons. One — she was "kidnapped" and when someone is a victim (or so it seems) you don’t expect them to be the assailant right away. Two — Laurel now has a baby and she would not do anything to put her child's life in jeopardy.

That leaves us with Connor and Oliver, and of course, the Castillos. We have somehow never considered Connor and Oliver to be violent, despite having seen Connor’s aggressive side in a few earlier instances.

But it doesn't take long or much for the most docile person to turn violent? For weeks, Connor has been wondering why he was chosen for K5.

Although when Bonnie tells him the real reason and he apparently believes it, we feel he is not the kind of man to take someone for their word right away.

We cannot rule out the possibility that he could have discovered some dark secret about himself or his past and Annalise's role in the same.

To get more answers, he might have gone to confront Annalise and a heated interaction led to a murder.

No matter who attacks Annalise — whether its a friend, a frenemy or a stranger, she needs to prepare and protect herself. But can the court do the needful to save a successful, powerful lawyer?
