LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Completely cut off from the outside world, a group of strangers come on 'Big Brother' to connect with each other. The house guests live in a specially constructed house, vying to win the prize money of $750,000. The contestants connect, fight, and make friends during their time in the house.

Throughout the season, the house guests are introduced to various challenges. Those who keep proving themselves in the challenges get to stay in the villa. The contestants of 'Big Brother' nominate each other and get evicted by public vote. The last remaining person takes away the prize money and the season's title.

How much do 'Big Brother' contestants make?

There is $750,000 at stake for each contestant. It is known that the winner of the show takes away the prize money. But how much are the contestants paid to appear on the show? According to Women's Health Magazine, cast members get a weekly salary of $1,000. This stipend is paid even if they last less than a week on the show. "Say you are the first person sent home and you only film six hours in the house, you get your thousand," said 'Big Brother' alum Elena Davies.

'Big Brother' contestants earn hefty amounts from challenges

'Big Brother' contestants are paid not only based on their presence on the show but also based on their effort. There are additional earnings for those who win challenges. Elena won a challenge in the show and called it a "luxury comp" as she bagged $5,000. In the past, the grand prize for the winners used to be $500,000. But the amount rose to $750K in Season 23.
