How many restaurants does Justin Sutherland have? 'Fast Foodies' chef had to shut down couple due to Covid-19
Reality cooking shows are easily both the best and the worst kind of shows on TV. It's the best because they grace our screens with some of the most innovative, delicious food that often puts the Instagram food tab to shame, and the worst because most of the time, we're left craving for more, literally.
If you love to crank up the heat and settle down with a good reality food show, then 'Fast Foodies' might just be what you're looking for.
As per the truTV websites, the show follows "Culinary masters Kristen Kish, Jeremy Ford and Justin Sutherland compete to perfectly recreate, then skillfully reimagine a celebrity guest’s favorite fast food dish as they try to win the 'Chompionship Trophy'.
If you are familiar with competitive cooking shows, then you might have heard of Chef Justin Sutherland, as he was on 'Top Chef' and was quick to charm the judges with his skill (we still dream of his version of the 'Juicy Lucy').
Having learned to cook from his grandmother and then later trained in classical French cuisine, Sutherland combines his skills to innovate and elevate southern pork dishes.
As per his website, Sutherland operates a range of restaurants, including Obachan Noodles and Chicken, Chickpea Hummus Bar, The Gnome, Woodfire Cantina and Gray Duck Taver.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the Handsome Hog and Public Kitchen + Bar, two eateries he runs, had to shut its doors, although Sutherland is looking at reopening the former once the situation settles.
Among the restaurants he's had to shut, the Pearl and the Thief is a whiskey and oyster pop-up, and the Fritz specialized in deep dish pizzas. He hopes to eventually incorporate the pizza hack into the Handsome Hog's menu.
Having to shut shop indefinitely until further notice is never easy, but this hasn't set him back though, seeing that now his entire energy has been focused on feeding Covid frontliners, through his GoFundMe campaign, Chefs Feed Our Frontliners, through which he's gone on to serve over 30,000 meals. The chef was also at the helm of the Black Lives Matter movement, seeing that he took to the streets in order to feed the people out there and show his support in the process.
Sutherland most certainly puts in his heart into his cooking and soul into the food. We can't wait to see what he whips up on ' Fast Foodies'!
