LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Episode 2 started streaming on HBO on June 23, 2024. The enthralling episode had a brutal swordfight between the Cargyll brothers, a grueling argument between Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) and Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy), and an enraged King Aegon Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) taking out his frustrations after Blood and Cheese.

But amidst these intense moments, there was a moment of calm as Jacaerys Velaryon or Jace (Harry Collett) and Baela Targaryen (Beth Antonia) had a quiet discussion about things that were happening in and around them.

The discussion included a sensitive topic as Baela touched upon Jacerys's relationship with Harwin Strong (Ryan Corr), something that has not been discussed openly yet.

Although Jace has the name Velaryon due to him officially being the son of Laenor Velaryon (John Macmillan) and Rhaenyra Targaryen, there are rumors of him being the biological son of Harwin Strong and Rhaenyra.

In his discussion with Baela, Jace acknowledges Harwin Strong and his relationship with him. He recalls fond memories with Harwin Strong and also calls him by the nickname 'Breakbones'.

As Jace is the oldest of Rhaenyra's sons, he remembers the time when Harwin Strong was alive and actively training the boys. Harwin died in Harrenhall where he was condemned as the rumors of his affair with Rhaenyra spread.

Jace and Baela acknowledging him indicates that Jace is proud of his controversial parentage and has embraced it. He doesn't feel shy of discussing it with the person he is supposed to get married with.

Do Jace and Baela get married in 'House of the Dragon'?

In the book 'Fire and Blood', Jace and Baela do not get married and Jace instead gets married to Sara Snow, who is the half-sister of Lord Cregan Stark (Tom Taylor). It does seem though, that the interpretation of the book is different from that of the book as Sara's character hasn't been introduced yet and Cregan too was briefly introduced.

Jace does not survive the dance of the dragons in the book and dies in the Battle of Gullet which is likely to take place in Season 3 in 'House of the Dragon'. The death of Jace is the major turning point in the battle as Lord Cregan Stark marches with an army of North soldiers to establish Rhaenyra's son as the King. The event will be known as the 'Hour of the Wolf'.

Baela survives the Dance of the Dragons as one of the three living Targaryen children along with her sister Rhaena Targaryen (Phoebe Campbell) and half-brother Aegon III Targaryen. She eventually gets married to Alyn of Hull (Abubaker Salim) who becomes the Lord of the Tides later.
