'Hot and Heavy': Joy chooses to listen to her heart despite Chris's mother's apprehensions about her weight
Joy Hill and Chris Ortega were preparing up to walk down the aisle and say their "I dos" yet there were a couple of people who had been questioning their relationship. One among them happened to be Chris's mother, Lori. Lori herself was overweight for a long time but got things under control after she underwent a bariatric surgery.
Seeing how things changed for the better for her, Lori wanted Joy to also think of the same. However, it wasn't something that was on Joy's mind. When just a couple of hours remained for Joy to walk down the aisle, she thought it would be best to clear the air between her and Lori.
Joy found out that Lori was skeptical if she would be able to keep up with Chris and his fast-paced lifestyle. After sitting down with Lori, Joy explained that Chris chose her for who she is and knew what he was getting into. Lori acknowledged everything that Joy had to say but added that she worried Joy would not be able to fit into the lifestyle that Chris followed.
She further revealed how her weight started affecting her heart and did not want the same to happen to Joy now that she was becoming a part of the family. Joy confessed that she does not want to do all the things that Chris normally does and even though sometimes it gets hard she is ready to do it for him.
Lori was happy to see how Joy took the relationship with Chris seriously and speaking to the camera revealed that she is ready to support Joy in whatever way she wants. Joy was happy to have the conversation and felt more confident to walk down the aisle and finally tie the knot with Chris.
