'Hospital Playlist': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Cho Jung-seok's K-drama

This upcoming tvN Korean show is about a group of friends who happen to be doctors and charts their tribulations in the medical field

'Hospital Playlist' is a new show on Korean channel tvN and will be streamed on Netflix. The show will take the time slot of tvN's 'Pegasus Market'. 

Release date

'Hospital Playlist' will premiere on March 12 at 9 pm KST and will be available to stream on Netflix every Thursday. 

Plot

The show centers around five doctors who became friends while studying in medical school. They are in their 40s now and each of them is characteristically different from the other. However, their time studying together, then interning together and now working together in the same field has bonded them together despite their differences. How they navigate the landmines in their respective departments while helping patients as well as they can, forms the crux of the plot. 

Cast 

Cho Jung-seok as Ik-joon

Cho Jung-seok, popular for his roles in 'Two Cops', 'Oh My Ghost' among other shows, will portray the role of Ik-joon in the show. He is expected to be everyone's favorite in the show and on the surface he also seems very social. 

Kim Dae-myung  as Seok-hyeong

Actor Kim Dae-myung who started off as an actor on stage rose to popularity with his show 'Misaeng: Incomplete'. In the show, he plays one of the five friends -- Seok-hyeong.

Jung Kyoung-ho as Joon-wan

Actor Jung Kyung-ho who is popular for his role in 'Prison Playbook' among other shows will play the role of Joon-won who is rude, blunt and in general annoying but a friend. 

Yoo Yeon-seok as Jung-won

Actor Yoo Yeon-seok has played the role of a doctor before in 'Dr. Romantic'. He is also popular for his roles in the shows 'Gu Family Book' and 'Mr. Sunshine'. He will portray the role of Jung-won, a doctor who is so sensitive that he bursts out in tears one too many times. He even believes himself to be a quack too. 

Jeon Mi-do as Song-Hwa

Actor Jeon Mi-do plays the role of one of the five friends in 'Hospital Playlist'. The actor was previously seen in 'Mother', also a tvN show. 

Creator

Director Shin Won-ho and writer Lee Woo-jung who have previously collaborated on tvN's popular series 'Reply 1997', 'Reply 1994' and 'Reply 1988' are working together on the 'Hospital Playlist'. 

Trailer

The trailer of the show portrays how five doctors in their 40s who also happen to be close friends struggle to not lose themselves while serving their patients. 'Hospital Playlist' shows that the only thing doctors can really do is promise to do their best as they cannot take responsibility for anything else. They cannot assure recovery, they cannot assure a cure, but all they can assure is to tell you that they are on your side and they will do their best. The trailer centers on how doctors are also helpless sometimes.
