The arts and craft retail chain Hobby Lobby recently started trending on Twitter after several people, including writer-activist Tom D' Angora, shared a snap from the store with a sign that read "USA VOTE TRUMP". And in no time, the netizens vowed to cancel the store.

Angora posted an image from the store with the caption, "In case you were getting soft on your Hobby Lobby boycotting... This is a current display! #BoycottHobbyLobby." More people started sharing the image from the store and slammed the initiative. One user tweeted, "I thought Hobby Lobby just sold cheap arts and crafts stuff? Looks like they sell their souls too?"

Another user said, "I work right next door to a Hobby Lobby and I won't set foot in that place. When customers can't find what they're looking for and I know HL has it... I refer them elsewhere. #BoycottHobbyLobby."

"Shopping at Hobby Lobby literally funds terrorism. Although they were stolen from Iraq, the people selling them used that money for terrorist activities. Haven't shopped there in years. #BoycottHobbyLobby," wrote an angry user.

"#BoycottHobbyLobby I'm done with them. I dont go go ANY store for politics, I go to escape politics. This was just not thought out...then again maybe it was!!! #usavotebiden," said another user.

Some pointed out at the Hobby Lobby's 2012 controversy where the store filed a lawsuit against the United States of America over new regulations requiring health insurance provided by employers to cover emergency contraceptives. The company released the following statement: "[T]he Green family's religious beliefs forbid them from participating in, providing access to, paying for, training others to engage in, or otherwise supporting abortion-causing drugs and devices." Referring to the incident, a user commented, "I notice that #BoycottHobbyLobby is trending again. I kinda assumed after they decided that they didn't have to provide access to birth control to any employee, that anyone who was not a Republican "Christian" had already stopped shopping there already. Maybe I was wrong?"

Another said, "If @HobbyLobby's blatant disregard for women's health & wellness wasn't enough to make you #boycottHobbyLobby years ago, there's this. Why would I shop at a racist, misogynistic, intolerant retailer when I can find better selection & quality at @MichaelsStores ? #BidenHarris2020"

"been saying #BoycottHobbyLobby since they refuse to give their employees adequate health care coverage and refuse to cover certain medications on "religious" grounds, THEN when it came to light that they were stealing artifacts from countries. But all yall see is a good sale," said another user.
