Hillary Clinton will run for the White House seat again in 2020 after Democrats sacrifice former Vice President Joe Biden in an effort to bring down Donald Trump in the impeachment inquiry, the US president's former chief strategist Steve Bannon has predicted.

Steve Bannon, in a statement to Fox Business, said that once Democrats take their 2020 race frontrunner Biden out of the way, they will shift their allegiance to other candidates, including Clinton. Bannon cited Clinton's recent frequent media appearances as evidence that she has not ruled out running for the presidency as she claims. The former Secretary of State, along with her daughter Chelsea Clinton, have been promoting their joint book titled 'The Book of Gutsy Women.'

"They think they have a weak field and they're - it's like in chess - they're prepared to sacrifice a rook to take down a king," Bannon told the outlet. "They will throw Biden away to get to Trump and hope Elizabeth [Warren] or I even think Hillary Clinton or [Michael] Bloomberg or some centrist comes in here."

When the segment host Trish Regan questioned Bannon on why he believes that Clinton will enter the presidential race again, the former White House official pointed to her media schedule as reflective of her intentions.

Clinton, during her television appearances, has been attacking Trump, recently calling him a "corrupt human tornado" during an interview with CBS on Monday. She also said that Trump knows that his 2016 presidential win against her was fraudulent. The former first lady also backed the impeachment inquiry launched against Trump by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the wake of the Ukraine call scandal.

The impeachment inquiry was initiated after a whistleblower lodged a formal complaint, alleging that President Trump had sought "favor" from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to target his political rival Biden and his son Hunter. White House later released a transcript of the controversial call, which confirmed that the president had asked the foreign leader to investigate Biden.
