The upcoming Episode 4 of Starz's latest rugs and crime thriller 'Hightown' takes us on a joyride; or so reveals the official synopsis with more than just a few hints about the madness and mayhem about to unfold. On one hand, there's the highly anticipated face-off between detective Ray Abruzzo (James Badger Deale) and druglord Frankie Cuevas' (Amaury Nolasco) right-hand-man Osito (Atkins Estimond).

On the other hand, there is some big obstruction coming up in Junior McCarthy's (Shane Harper) attempts at winning back Donna. But what has intrigued us the most is once again the struggles of protagonist Jackie Quinones' (Monica Raymund) personal life. On the brink of making a major breakthrough in the Sherry Henry murder case, Jackie "discovers Krista Collins' whereabouts," teases the official synopsis.

At the same time, it also adds quite ominously that "(Jackie) becomes distracted by something pressing from her very own life." What could this entail? Our best bet is her ongoing recovery from alcoholism, and the resent spark of her and her ex Devonne's on-and-off relationship. We were introduced to Devonne in last week's Episode 3, as we saw Jackie reconnect with her, once again, for her own personal and selfish motives.

Devonne calls Jackie out for the same and tells her to admit that she is after all just using people to get free rides along with sexual gratification. The old Jackie would have never agreed to this, but the new one does, but will this sense of realization also hinder the breakthroughs Jackie is about to make?

The synopsis teases that she is going to crack Krista's whereabouts and dig out the people really responsible for Sherry's murder. But a deep dive into their world would mean facing her own past demons riddled with drug and alcohol problems. Recently on this journey towards sobriety with just nine days in, will Jackie give it all up to immerse herself in seeking justice for Sherry?

The synopsis does tease her getting distracted by her personal life, so this could also refer to some much-needed soul searching, courtesy the summons surrounding her drunk and driving car-crash incident that sent the passenger seat occupant straight to the hospital. While Jackie thinks redeeming herself from this life of an avid alcoholic would be possible through discovering what really happened to Sherry, she still is tiptoeing along the fine lines separating addiction and sobriety — a tiny misstep could cause her to relapse and ricochet right back to where she was weeks ago as well.

'Hightown' airs every Sunday at 8 pm on Starz.
