'Backyard Takeover': Release date, format, trailer, host and all you need to know about HGTV landscaping show

The HGTV show features Jamie Durie helping clients with designing and converting their backyards from a neglected space to the highlight of the house

While we pay a lot of attention to the front yard of our houses, the backyard doesn't get as much attention. But not when popular landscape designer Jamie Durie is around. On HGTV's upcoming show 'Backyard Takeover', the seasoned designer will guide clients to transform the neglected and often underrated space of homes into a beautiful cozy area which might become the main attractions of the home!

Release date

'Backyard Takeover' is all set to premiere on Friday, August 21, at 10/9c on HGTV. Following which you can catch new episodes every Friday at 10/9c on HGTV.

Plot

'Backyard Takeover' follows veteran landscape designer Jamie Durie. Each episode features Durie helping and guiding his clients on how to convert their backyard from an underutilized space to a stunning backyard. According to HGTV, the first episode features Durie guiding two of his clients with their backyard problems. He clears out an overgrown backyard and creates a beautiful garden with an alfresco dining area and a play area for the kids.

For another client, he builds a stunning fishing pier and an art studio, right in the backyard. "I've transformed backyards all over the world. These backyards have enormous potential-but it takes a lot of work. If I'm going to get my hands dirty, the homeowners have to get their hands dirty too," explained Durie.

The show features landscape designer and author, Jamie Durie. Jamie isn't a stranger to the world of HGTV shows, prior to 'Backyard Takeover', Jamie hosted shows like 'The Outdoor Room', 'House Rules', 'Backyard Blitz' and others. He has also authored 11 books on subjects like garden designing, lifestyle and architecture. He is also founder and director of his international design firm Durie Design established in 1998.
