Meanwhile, regarding Quinton Simon's abduction, he went missing from his home on October 5 with his mother, Leilani Simon as the prime suspect. However, the police have declared that the toddler might have died. In fact, the same day when Moss Sr died, Chatham County Police announced that Quinton’s body might never be found.
“After thousands of hours of investigating and gathering evidence, everything still points to Quinton being recovered in the landfill and his mother, Leilani Simon, as the primary suspect in his death and disappearance,” The Chatham County Police Department said in a statement on Twitter on Wednesday. “We have spent two weeks digging through thousands of tons of garbage.. We knew going into this landfill search, the odds of recovering Quinton’s remains were low,” the department added.

A tweet by Chatham County Police Department stated, "Four weeks ago today, we received the call that would spark the largest search and most far-reaching investigation in the history of the Chatham County Police Department. It was the call that little Quinton Simon was missing."

Moss Jr previously claimed that Leilani had blamed him for Quinton's missing. "They told me Leilani said I came and got him overnight," he said, "She's gonna hurt that baby." "I said I didn't know what was going on. Hell, I haven't heard from her in six to seven months." He later claimed Leilani wasn't crying and was on something.

Bubba also questioned her, "how did Quinton go missing? How did a 20-month-old go walk out?" "She didn't have anything to say to me," he added. "All she said was she was sorry and didn't know what happened to him. That's all she does is lie." Bubba said he was shocked that she had not been arrested yet. "I can't believe she ain't locked up now," he said. "She's a terrible person, and she's going to jail or hell. She's evil. She shouldn't be here out in society." "If she didn't want him, she could have told me," he added. "I would have come and got him."
