Has Malia White quit 'Below Deck Mediterranean'?
As soon as fans realized that Malia wasn't a part of season 7, they immediately concluded that the Bosun must have been shown the door owing to the backlash she received for getting her fellow crew member Hannah Ferrier fired. In an interview with Metro, Malia clarified that her exit had nothing to do with Hannah's axing. She instead claimed that she had to take some time off on account of meeting with a scooter accident and also to prepare for her officer's exam.
She said, "I didn’t leave for that reason.I haven’t left. It’s not that I might never come back to the show. I’m just not on the next season. I got in a really bad scooter accident. And I’m studying for this big [exam], so it’s just a good time for me to take a break and take a step back. And the misconceptions are on the show [that] I got a lot of heat for the whole Hannah thing and all this stuff." Last July Malia met with an accident just hours prior to 'Below Deck Med' Season 6's premiere. She revealed that she narrowly escaped death but was left with a fractured elbow, broken toes, and concussion.
In an Instagram post accompanying a picture of her injuries, Malia shared, "AFTER: on Instagram we usually share the pretty stuff but this is the important stuff- I’m sharing this to express the importance of always wearing a helmet. Mine quite literally saved my life. I spent the premiere night in a hospital bed after having a mean accident on my scooter. I’ve been riding scooters my whole life was familiar with the equipment, wasn’t drinking and was 10 minutes from my boat. Accidents happen when you least expect them. Luckily, I was able to walk away with a few stitches, fractured elbow, broken toes, severe road rash and a very sore body. I don’t want to imagine what the case would have been without my helmet! I won’t hang up my scooter keys just yet… but I’m definitely aware of the importance of cruising safely! 🛵🤕 #scooteraccident #ridesafe #alwayswearahelmet #bruisedup #lucky."
Malia earned the wrath of the public when she sent a picture of a prescription box of Valium, a THC pen and a personalized passport holder with the initials ‘HF’ to Captain Sandy, which led to Hannah's firing. Though Hannah produced her doctor's prescription for valium and explained that she was prescribed the pills to help with her anxiety and pointed out that her THC pen just contained CBD Oil, which is legal in Spain, Captain Sandy stuck to her stand of Hannah violating the rules by bringing undeclared drugs onboard.
Malia weighed in on the situation by stating, "I don’t hold any regrets or anxiety toward the show. It’s just what’s happened has happened and time to move on from it. Everyone’s learned, and it’s time to just move on."

While we will have to wait and watch to see if the infamous Bosun will return to her beloved 'Below Deck Med' or any of the other exciting spin-offs, in the meanwhile, here's what Malia's up to.
