Who is Harindapan Gill? Pedophile approached fake profile of 11-year-old girl asking 'her' to have sex with dog
A man has been given 16 months of prison time along with a sexual harm prevention order and sex offender registration for ten years after it was found that he had tried to persuade an “11-year-old girl” to have sex with her pet dog. Married dad Harindapan Gill, 32, pretended to be a 13-year-old boy called Harry when he contacted a 11-year-old schoolgirl profile on Chat Avenue on Valentine's Day 2019. Little did he know that the girl's fake profile under the name "Faye" was actually being run by Angels of Innocence, a pedophile hunter group.
Angels of Innocence members who testified against him claim that Gill’s conversation with the fake girl's profile left them “physically sick”. Newcastle Crown Court was told that on Valentine’s Day in 2019, the pedophile approached Faye’s profile and in no time, the conversation became sexual. The court was also told how Gill became rude and aggressive towards "Faye" and began calling her names, like “scared little girl” if she refused to do what he had asked of her.

Some of the shocking requests made by Gill from Sunderland was asking "Faye" to have sex with her pet dog, have oral sex with a stranger while he listened over the phone, and perform a sexual act with a hairbrush. The court heard from Prosecutor Elizabeth Muir that the chat was “one of the most extreme cases of this nature that we have seen, in relation to the requests”.
The sentencing came after Gill confessed to inciting someone he thought was a child to engage in sexual activities. While announcing the verdict, recorder Keir Monteith QC told him his orders to the fake girl were “depraved and extreme”. Monteith QC said, “You need to remind yourself, you wanted to have sex with an 11-year-old, you wanted the 11-year-old to find a stranger to have sex with, you wanted the 11-year-old to have sex with a dog,” while adding that he shows a “continuing risk of harm to the public”.
During the hearing, it was also told that Gill contacted the fake girl’s profile just an hour after it was made. At the time, he was also informed that an 11-year-old was chatting with him. Muir stated, “He asked her if she wants an older man as her boyfriend and asks what she looks like, particularly if she has a 'big bum'. He then proceeds to ask for her mobile phone number and when she's reluctant he becomes unpleasant to her, asking her if she's going to be a 'mummy's girl’.”
Besides chatting on the Chat Avenue app, Gill also spoke to the fake girl on other social media sites and WhatsApp after her number was provided to him. The man also asked the girl to “meet at McDonalds” for sex.
However, Helen Towers, who was defending Gill, told the court that feelings of “loneliness and stress” led him to commit the crime. “He has demonstrated remorse to the police and probation service and a good deal of victim awareness. He has been open and honest and looking to explore the reasons for his offending,” she added.
