The Chicks (previously known as The Dixie Chicks) have announced a special live broadcast in celebration of their new studio album 'Gaslighter'. The event, monikered 'Happy Hour with The Chicks' will see the iconic female country trio supporting the LP on Twitter and YouTube on July 17. We’re gonna celebrate the release of #Gaslighter by hanging out live on @youtube and @twitter Friday at 7pm ET / 4pm PT," The Chicks began their announcement on Instagram, written alongside a stunning poster of members Natalie Maines, Martie Erwin Maguire and Emily Strayer.

They also teased the event may feature guest appearances, saying, "Maybe some special guests will drop in 🤷‍♀️". Allowing interactions with fans, the group added, "Got questions for us? Drop them in the comments. 🥂." You can watch the gorgeous poster here.

Fans have been quick to pour in their excitement and questions on the social media platform. "Best birthday present ever! Can’t wait!" says a fan. Fans asked numerous questions like, "Musically, how did the production of Gaslighter differ from past albums? Was it challenging to incorporate bluegrass instruments into a pop record?" and "My question...not to be greedy, but do you expect more new albums / material over the next few years? In other words are you back to stay?! 😀 Big fan and love your transparency and honesty."

One fan wrote, "What is the significance of the Irish Dancers on the album cover?" Another asked, "What was the emotionally hardest song to write on the album? #Gaslighter." On Twitter, a fan said, "I can’t wait to hear what magic you’ve been working on. Hoping for another truth-telling, bridge-burner" and "No questions... just want to send you ladies, your families and crew all the love that you guys can hold. I’ve always believed that you were beautiful souls - May God bless and keep you all."

'Gaslighter' is the group's eighth studio album and marks a glorious comeback for the band after a 14-year period of musical silence. Apart from its prominent critical and public reception, saying that fans have been anticipating new music from The Chicks with bated is an understatement. Their last album, 'Taking the Long Way', released in 2006.
