'The Bachelorette’: Will Hannah Brown and Tyler Cameron be the next Jason and Molly Mesnick?
The finale of ‘The Bachelorette’ season 15, saw a lot of unexpected twists and turns. To recap it briefly, frontrunner Jed Wyatt proposed to Hannah, and Hannah happily accepted the proposal. Things seemed to be going well for the happy couple when the story of Jed’s girlfriend back in his hometown broke out. This obviously caused friction in their relationship. Hannah and Jed discussed their feelings and thoughts on the situation. Hannah was totally disappointed and upset that Jed wasn’t honest in their relationship, and she finally did what fans had been waiting for- she called off her engagement with Jed.
In the finale, host Chris Harrison brought back Hannah and Jed for a final interview where Jed apologized to Hannah, and Hannah accepted the apology and made it very clear that she wasn’t willing to consider getting back together. Chris then surprised viewers by bringing runner-up Tyler Cameron for the interview. Hannah looked happy and excited on seeing Tyler. In a very bold and typical Hannah-esque fashion, she asked him out. Fans were very happy and excited when Tyler readily accepted her invitation for a date.
We have to point out that this isn't the first time that a bachelor or bachelorette had a change of heart in the final moment-Jason and Molly Mesnick from season 1 of 'The Bachelor' have done it already. On the season's finale, Jason proposed to the finalist Melissa Rycroft, however, later he had a change of heart and decided that he wanted to test the waters with the runner-up Molly Malaney. This change of heart has served the couple well, as the couple went on to get married in February 2010, a year after the series ended. The happy couple has a daughter, Riley, and currently reside in Seattle.
Much later, on season 22 of 'The Bachelor' Arie Luyendyk took a page from Mesnick's book. Arie proposed to the finalist Becca Kufrin during the finale, but later he decided that he wanted to give it a shot with the runner-up Lauren Burnham. Lauren and Arie went on to have a beautiful wedding in Hawaii earlier this year. The happy couple welcomed their first child in May 2019. Now we can't help but wonder if our girl Hannah too will find her happily-ever-after with Tyler Cameron and keep up the streak of striking gold with the runner-up.
