The famous Broadway musical 'Hamilton' is gearing up for its new stage-to-screen adaptation coming to the Disney+ streaming service. Recorded in June 2016, the film promises to be a thrilling and exciting experience and provides an even clearer understanding of Alexander Hamilton, on whom the broadway and film are based. Inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton', the movie 'Hamilton' details the story of the Founding Father. The story is told in two acts and is considered one of the most influential musicals of the last 20 years.

The production has been described as "The true story behind one of America's foremost founding fathers and first US Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the Caribbean who became George Washington's right-hand man during the American Revolutionary War." Here's all you need to know about the cast of 'Hamilton'.

Lin-Manuel Miranda

Now a cultural icon, Lin-Manuel Miranda shot to fame for writing the Broadway musicals 'In the Heights' and 'Hamilton'. He has won numerous awards, that include a Pulitzer Prize, three Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, a MacArthur Fellowship and a Kennedy Center Honor in 2018. 'Hamilton' became a pop-culture phenomenon, and was named Billboard as the eleventh-biggest album of the 2010s.  His other work includes 'The Electric Company' (2009–2010) and 'Do No Harm' (2013). In 2016, he hosted Saturday Night Live and earned his first Emmy award nomination for acting.

Diggs is an actor, singer, producer, writer and rapper, and is is the vocalist of the experimental hip hop group Clipping. Diggs won a Grammy and Tony for, the Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson in the 2015 musical.

 Other members of the show's ensemble cast include Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler, Jonathan Groff as King George, Christopher Jackson as George Washington, Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, Leslie Odom Jr as Aaron Burr, Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison, Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton, and Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton.

The film has been directed by Thomas Kail, who also won awards for 'Hamilton'. The stage-to-screen film will release on July 3 on Disney+.
