'Halo' Episode 4 Fan review: Forced filler irks game ardents, 'stop focussing on Kwan'

Scanty action in Episode 4 of 'Halo' was an absolute bummer for fans, especially the ones tuning in religiously hoping that the series lives up to the storylines the games produced. 'Homecoming' follows the past and the origin story of Master Chief/John 117 (Pablo Schreiber) as he searches for the second artifact in Eridanus II. Kai (Kate Kennedy) and Miranda (Olive Gray) decrypt the Covenant language, while Kwan Ha (Yerin Ha) and Soren (Bokeem Woodbine) and in trouble at Madrigal.

Needless to say, game ardents were miffed. "Please stop focusing so much time on Kwan she was very unlikable in episode 4 of #HaloTheSeries saw her as annoying and disrespectful. I like her but damn even I was like change her attitude or get her out," one of the tweets read. "Final rating for #HalotheSeries Chapter 4 would be a 3/10 and it didn't go any lower thanks to the Silver team and VFX. I hope the Chief side story will be more exciting in future episodes and I hope to see more of Kai-125," another wrote.

"So far,#Paramount live-action #Halotheseries has broken the UltimateTaboo of removing MasterChief’s helmet. As fans try to adjust to this new realityWhere the legendary videoGame character constantly shows his face, the latestEpisode hasTaken a step to show John117's origins story," one of the comments said. "Halo TV Show Episode 4, keeps being tragic. What is first thing Chief does when he lands on a different planet? Takes his helmet off (what did u expect?) Nude Ass count in episode: 2 (and will be rising) Events: nothing happens entire episode #Halo #HaloSeries," a tweet said.

But some did feel the episode had something to offer. "Halo episode 4 is a slow one but a necessary one. I like how they give Miranda a character, hope we could see her evolve to the bad a*s commander we loved in the games," a fan opined. "Episode 4 may be my favorite episode yet. We finally got to explore more of Silver Team, which was really nice to finally see. I also quite enjoyed Chief's story, as well as Kwan and Soren. That said, we stray further and further from what makes Halo so special and I hate it," a fan remarked.
