'Grey's Anatomy' Season 17 Episode 5: Why is Owen taking care of Tom? Fans threaten to riot if he dies
Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) is dying of Covid-19 and all the doctors of Grey-Sloane Memorial are rallying around, trying to save him. Will he die, or will he actually be saved? He's seeing his dead son right now, and fans worry that he might just reunite with his son.
Tom has been suffering for a while now, from a broken heart, actually. The latest break-up with Teddy pushed him off the edge. Teddy had dated Tom a while ago, and then the two broke off, following which, Teddy was all set to marry her best friend Owen Hunt (Kevin Hunt). However, due to some insecurities, Teddy decided to deal with her issues by sleeping with Tom, and unfortunately, Owen found out about it. He called off their wedding, and Teddy was left stranded, as neither of the men wanted to be near her. It remains to be seen whether she can mend her relationship with Tom, or if he will die without her ever being able to make peace.
Fans are just annoyed that Tom is the one who is suffering at the moment, as most of them hate Owen. The hate for Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) has become more profound over the past few seasons, due to his messy relationships with Teddy and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone).

Meanwhile Miranda Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) mother's fate lies in the balance too. As of now, there are several lives hanging in the balance in the latest episode of 'Greys Anatomy', and someone is definitely not going to survive tonight.
