'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16: Love triangles to a terrible car crash, here's what to expect when the ABC show returns in January

A lot went down in the latest episode of 'Grey's Anatomy'.

The latest episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' from season 16 has left fans in a bit of a flux. Apart from the heartstopping crash in Emerald City bar, there were several other zingers. The father of Amelia Shepherd's (Caterina Scorsone) baby might not be Link (Chris Carmack), but might just be Owen Hunt's, (Kevin McKidd), with whom Amelia had shared a turbulent relationship with. That's not all.

Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) miscarried her child, because why should anything good happen to anyone on that show? Maggie Pierce (Kelly McReary) is having problems of her own and has lost confidence in her capabilities as a cardiothoracic surgeon and is fumbling. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) gets a 'man-gift' from Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh).

So many questions and no answers. The next episode of 'Grey's Anatomy', will air only on January 23, leaving fans to speculate about what's going to happen next in the medical drama. The promo showed that there would be a crossover with 'Station 19', which is also created by Shonda Rhimes. In the promo, we can just see the doctors struggling to save the survivors.

The good news is that Jackson (Jesse Williams) seems to be alive and kicking. So does anyone die in this crash? And who drove the car? Being dramatic and unpredictable, it could either be Catherine Foxx, or even Maggie for that matter, considering she isn't having such a great time....so in true Grey's style, it's time to make her more miserable.

One possible casualty could be Ben, which could either bring him closer to Bailey or create a further rift between them.

Meredith also receives a 'man-gift' from Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), which is obviously going to complicate her strained relationship with Andrew DeLuca further.  Meredith is no stranger to love triangles (though this is getting annoying and tiring now), and it's clear that the show is headed that way. Its quite possible that the man has been brought for Meredith to realize her true feelings for DeLuca. Or will she?

This isn't the end of it, Jo (Camilla Luddington) has stolen a baby that is going to create quite a problem back home with hubby Karev (Alex Chambers).

So, there's much baby-stealing, car-accident casualties and survivors, baby-daddy issues to deal with when the show does return in January. Good luck, Grey's fans. Take heart. You've sat through this for 16 years.

'Grey's Anatomy' airs on Thursdays, ABC.
