Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg posted a festive picture of herself with her dogs on Twitter on December 25 with a holiday message for her followers. In the picture Thunberg can be seen wearing a Santa hat and a Christmas jumper and is surrounded by her two dogs.

The 16-year-old, along with the picture, also wrote a holiday message, wishing happy holidays to all: "Happy holidays! Remember to take care of yourselves, each other and the beautiful planet we live on.”

It has been a momentous year for the Swedish eco-warrior so far. From being lauded for calling out world leaders at a United Nations forum for their inaction towards climate change to being chosen as Time's Person of the Year 2019, Thunberg has been at the center of the spotlight.

Thunberg, who rose to popularity through her weekly Friday protest outside the Swedish parliament a year ago, has inspired millions of people across the world to take to the streets in an effort to demand emergency action on climate change from their governments.

The teen is also set to get her own documentary, which currently has the working title 'Greta'. It is reportedly produced by Cecilia Nessen and Fredrik Heinig via B-Reel Films and directed by Nathan Grossman.

The film's team has been following Thunberg from her early school strike in Stockholm, where she was photographed sitting alone outside the Swedish parliament. The documentary aims to portray the teen's mission to make the world understand the urgency of the climate crisis.

Greta, earlier this month, became the youngest person to receive TIME magazine's Person of the Year title in its 92-year history. The Swedish teen was recognized by the magazine for her fearless efforts of raising global awareness about climate change.

She was chosen from TIME's five finalists — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi; President Donald J Trump; the anonymous whistleblower who lodged an official complaint about Trump's July 25 call to Ukraine President, leading to an impeachment inquiry against the president; and the anti-government protesters in Hong Kong.
