Another applauded the actress for wearing a gown that was unlike any other actress had chosen to wear on the red carpet. "I think she's the only woman alive who can wear something like this I swear. There is no doubt that the actress knows how to win a red carpet and be an embodiment of power. Gwendoline even nominated herself for the Emmys when she found out that she wasn't chosen as one of the nominees. The actress revealed that the only people who knew about her sending her nomination were her partner and the cast of 'Game of Thrones'.

Speaking to Deadline, the actress revealed that the first person she spoke to after her nomination was Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister in the show).  "We both wanted to push each other to try and be better. It has been thrilling to play, and an incredibly satisfying relationship to have had. So mercurial, so undefinable. Brienne and Jaime just have this really captivating relationship," she noted.

HBO's hit show has received 32 Emmy Award nominations this year.
