Putting together any exotic dish in the kitchen is difficult but not for Gordon Ramsay, who is known for his unconventional and unique approach to culinary arts. This explains why he would sign up for something like 'Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted.' This National Geographic-backed show blends food and adventure, with a pinch of classic Gordon wit and side of picturesque locales.

While the focus of the show continues to be connecting with people around the world by learning their ways of putting together a meal, viewers can expect pulse-pounding adventures that include Heli-rappeling, bull-riding, caiman-hunting, bug-eating and such. Gordon eats a giant bird-eating Tarantula, showrunner Jon Kroll confirms to Cinema Blend. Yes, that happened.

In the premiere episode, Gordon wastes no time in establishing that it's not going to be a regular food show where he does his magic by just waltzing around his kitchen. He goes that extra mile to ensure the audience is in for a ride but not without a good dose of his wit.

His global food journey will take him to farthest corners of the world -- starting with Tasmania and continuing to South Africa, Louisiana, Indonesia, Guyana, India and Norway. Gordon' search for traditional recipes not only brings him closer to nature but also helps him understand a basic tenet of cooking -- less is more.

It would be safe to say that the makers have successfully connected three different areas of interest and merged them to form cohesive content. 'Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted' is a healthy mix of everything that makes for good television: Action, food and travel.

While his experience was nothing short of enriching and equal parts adventurous, but there were times when he was keyed up and jumpy. Talking to CBS8, the chef recalled an episode during which he was advised to swim fast because there could be great white sharks in the water.

"He said, 'No, forget the waves, look out for the great whites,'" Ramsay recalled and added, "He said, 'Yeah, they were here yesterday, so swim, but swim fast.' So that was the only time I thought, 'OK, great whites.' Everything else I was fine with."

'Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted' Season 2 airs on National Geographic on June 7 at 10 pm ET.
