‘Good Trouble’ Season 2B Episode 13 preview: Mariana’s job is threatened while a new door opens for Malika

‘Good Trouble’ made a powerful comeback with Season 2B, opening an avenue of new possibilities. While episode 11 provided answers to a couple of questions concerning our beloved characters, the latest offering ended with a major cliffhanger. 

Towards the end of Episode 12, Callie Adams Foster (Maia Mitchell) learns that her boyfriend Jamie Hunter (Beau Mirchoff) legally represents the company that owns the development group her legal aid is trying to sue. This puts Callie in a tough spot as she is divided between her professional integrity and personal interests. 

Meanwhile, Mariana Adams Foster (Cierra Ramirez) is seen going great lengths to protect her job at Spekulate, including making her boyfriend Raj the head of the app team, which has earned her the wrath of her female colleagues. In the upcoming episode 13, it remains to be what step Mariana would be taking next, as her job is threatened. While she needs to take Raj’s feelings into consideration, as a loyal employee of the organization and having been at the forefront of gender discrimination, Mariana needs to make the best of the least ideal situation by any means. 

The previous episode also saw Malika Williams (Zuri Adele) worry abut tackling more legal issues, following her involvement in the Black Lives Matter movement, despite having a restraining order issued against her by Judge Wilson. The preview of the upcoming episode suggests that Malika's passion for equal rights lands her a new job opportunity. However, her legal issues are highly capable of jeopardizing it. In the upcoming episode, we might get to see Malika in a different light, when faced with an ultimatum. 

And, Callie needs to make one of the toughest decisions of her life, if it comes down to her having to choose between the relationship with Jamie and a cause close to her heart. 

We can’t help but wonder how the crack in Callie’s relationship is going to impact Mariana as she had warned her sister against a serious commitment and also expressed her unwillingness to let her move out of The Coterie.
