Golden Globes 2021: ‘The Crown’ beats ‘Ozark’ to win Best TV Drama, fans say ‘HFPA hardly watched’ other shows
'The Crown’ on Netflix has been dominating the award shows since its first season in 2016 and it continued its winning streak at Golden Globes 2021 as well. The 78th edition of the coveted award show was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Fey managed the ceremony from New York City's Rainbow Room whereas, Poehler was present at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
Apart from bagging the awards for Best Actor in a Drama TV Series, Best Actress in a Drama TV Series, and Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a series, the critically-acclaimed TV series also picked up the prize for Best TV Drama Series. ‘The Crown’ Season 4 was pitted against other hit shows like ‘Ozark’ Season 3, ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2, ‘Lovecraft Country’ Season 1 and ‘Ratched’ Season 1. Season 4 of the show sheds light on the Royal Family between 1979 and 1990 including the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana as well as the strained relationship between Queen Elizabeth and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The show stars Emma Corrin, Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies and Helena Bonham Carter in prominent roles among others.
