The nominations for the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced by Tim Allen, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Dakota Fanning on December 9. The award ceremony will be held on January 5, 2020 and will be hosted by Ricky Gervais.

Though many fans were happy with the nominations, quite a few fans were left disappointed after Netflix's 'When They See Us' and HBO's 'Euphoria' were not nominated in any of the categories.

Jharrel Jerome -- who won an Emmy Award for his performance as Korey Wise in 'When They See Us' -- is notably missing in the list of nominations. One fan tweeted, "Jharrel Jerome And When They See Us not being nominated for Golden Globes is such a ridiculous choice."

Of course, fans are disappointed with the nominations list which includes little to no people of color or women in non-acting categories. Viewers are also disappointed that Regina King was not nominated for her role in HBO's 'Watchmen'.

One user tweeted, "No Jharrel Jerome who won an Emmy, No Lupita who already is an Oscar frontrunner that is sweeping awards this season, No Zendaya who is in multiples lists of the best performances of the year, No Regina King who got universal acclaim in Watchmen. Judge for yourselves #GoldenGlobes." Another added, "No nominations for When They See Us or Us, my favorite mini-series and film of the year. Nice to see the Golden Globes being as painfully predictable as always #GoldenGlobes."

Lupita Nyong'o was also snubbed for her role in Jordan Peele's horror film, 'Us' and fans feel strongly about this. One fan wrote, "Cool, cool, cool. So the #GoldenGlobes just gonna pretend that Lupita Nyong'o didn’t give the best performance of the year."

Additionally, no female directors were nominated either. Though both 'Hustlers' and 'Little Women' racked up acting nominations for Jennifer Lopez and Saoirse Ronan, their respective directors, Lorene Scafaria and Greta Gerwig, among other notable female directors are missing from the list.
