The applause and cheer won't end anytime soon, as Brad Pitt won Best Supporting Actor at the 77th Annual Golden Globes for 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood', which was directed by Quentin Tarantino. Brad Pitt gave an emotional acceptance speech, and mentioned his gratitude to Leonardo DiCaprio, with a playful dig "I would have shared the raft", referring to the ill-fated death of Leo's character in 'Titanic'. He also laughed about his missed date opportunity at the Golden Globes. "I wanted to bring my mom, but any woman I stand next to they say I'm dating so it would have been awkward," he said.

Pitt received a standing ovation and mentioned that it was an honor to be nominated alongside his idols, including Tom Hanks and Al Pacino.

He then concluded his speech with a sweet message. "If you have the chance to be kind tomorrow, take it," he said. "I think we need it."

Pitt is a nine-time Golden Globes nominee, and previously won the award for Best Supporting Actor in 1996, for his role in '12 Monkeys'. He also took home a Globe as a producer in 2014 for 12 Years a Slave, which won Best Motion Picture - Drama.

The other nominations in the category included:

Tom Hanks, 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood'
Al Pacino, 'The Irishman'
Joe Pesci, 'The Irishman'
Anthony Hopkins, 'The Two Popes'

'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' won the award for Best Screenplay as well. The film told the story of a struggling actor and his stunt double and how they navigate the film industry. It is touted to be a tribute to the last few moments of the golden age of Hollywood.

At the Golden Globes 2020, Michelle Williams won Best Actress for the show 'Fosse/Verdon', Sam Mendes won Best Director for 1917, Laura Dern won Best Supporting Actress for 'Marriage Story', and Olivia Coleman won for 'The Crown'. The night has been full of surprises (mostly pleasant) for the fans.

Golden Globes 2020 is airing on NBC.
