'Gold Rush: White Water' Season 3 Episode 10 promo shows Dustin in harm’s way after dredge is possibly ruined

We see two misfortunate things happening; the first being them losing control of their dredge while transporting it to the new spot. Their expensive dredge, if damaged could mean the end of their season right there. The second is much scarier as a heavy rock is about to fall on Dustin’s head

Episode 9 of the Discovery Channel documentary-series ‘Gold Rush: White Water’ Season 3 saw two important things: One was ‘Dakota’ Fred almost experiencing a fatality underwater. His air supply had been cut because of a malfunction in the dredge motors. The second was Dustin’s crew realizing how much gold they had mined so far.

In the previous season, when the Hurts were on the same team, they had managed to mine almost 11 ounces of gold, worth around $15,000. This time, Dustin’s crew alone managed more than 27 ounces, which would be worth almost $40,000. They had covered their cost and then some.

With only a month’s time left in this season, before the frost settles in Alaska, Fred’s crew are deeply in need of some good luck. Their journey so far had been riddled with malfunctions, infighting and near-fatal accidents.

In the promo for episode 10, we see Dustin and crew move forward to a different location, confident that they had scoured every last bit of gold from “Rainbow’s End”. And the crew looks as confident as ever about their new prospect -- Wess Richardson says, “This is what is going to have all those nuggets.”

But things aren’t going to be easy. Their new location is much harsher than the previous terrain, with fast currents in the eponymous white waters, and jagged rocks. Things only take a scary turn from there.

One doesn’t see if it managed to hit him. But the prospect is not a good one. Because if it does, it could mean a much worse fate for Dustin than any kind of damaged equipment.

The promo doesn't show what's going on at Thunder Falls, but one can only imagine how desperate the situation is for Fred and his crew right now. Their finds have been meager at best and confidence in the leadership is at an all-time low.

‘Gold Rush: White Water’ Season 3 airs on the Discovery Channel every Friday, 10 p.m. ET.
