Residents of Grants, New Mexico, gathered Wednesday night to pay tribute to a girl who ended her own life after repeatedly complaining of being bullied online as well as at her school. Now, her best friend has vowed to speak out on her behalf until someone listens.

Before her death, Delia Watson, 11, had complained about being bullied at Mt. Taylor Elementary School and on the internet, KOB 4 reports. Maya Martinez, her best friend who also planned the vigil, opened up about how Delia was troubled. "Surprisingly my friend held her head up high and always carried a beautiful smile," she said. "She had the biggest heart and always found the good in everybody, even the girls and boys who would bully her."
