Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, an anesthetist, has been arrested for sexually assaulting a pregnant woman. The 32-year-old is reported to have sedated the woman heavily during a C-section surgery to assault her.

Bezerra has been arrested on suspicion of rape after he was caught on camera assaulting the woman at Hospital da Mulher in São João de Meriti, Rio de Janeiro. His colleagues had been suspicious of his behavior after they saw him dish out huge amounts of sedatives to pregnant women. The employees reportedly changed the delivery room to be able to film the act.

The footage shows the woman lying on the bed as the surgical team begins the C-section. Soon after Bezerra pulls his penis out and put it in the unconscious woman's mouth on the other side of the surgical sheet. The creep was less than a meter away from his colleagues during the assault, and the act reportedly continued for nearly 10 minutes.

The Health Foundation of the State of Rio de Janeiro said, "We inform you that an internal investigation will be opened to take administrative measures. The Hospital da Mulher team is providing full support to the victim and her family. This behavior, in addition to deserving our repudiation, constitutes a crime, which must be punished in accordance with the legislation in force," reports Globo.

The Society of Anesthesiology of the State of Rio de Janeiro said, "This type of behavior is completely absurd and we are confident that the competent authorities will investigate what actually happened and punish the doctor with all rigor if the crime is proven."

Governor Cláudio Castro stated, "I was appalled to learn of the brutal case of the anesthesiologist at the Hospital da Mulher, in São João de Meriti, filmed raping a patient. I determined that there be rigor and speed in the investigation of the very serious complaint. victim."

The nurses and technicians said Bezerra had already done two other surgeries on Sunday, July 10, but the rooms were such that the recording was unfeasible. During the third operation of the day, they managed to change the room and hid the phone to confirm his actions, as per Globo.

As per reports, the creep tried to move as little as possible so that no one in the room noticed. After the assault, he reportedly took a tissue and wiped the victim to hide any traces. Bezerra was surprised to learn that he had been recorded assaulting the patient. The police are trying to find other possible victims of the anesthesiologist.
